Costco might finally coming to mid-Michigan, and they know where they want to build their store.

The company is going to submit a proposal for site-plan approval and re-zoning to Meridian Township next month. The store would include an attached tire center, and a free-standing gas station.

It's looking at the corner of Park Lake Road and Saginaw Street, where the "Four Winds" Golf Course used to be (5800 Park Lake Road). East Lansing annexed the 66-acre site in 2001, but the township still controls the zoning.

Costco wants to talk to the people who live in the neighborhood to the East of the site, and it's scheduled a meeting for June 2nd at 6pm at the Meridian Township Hall. Costco representatives are expected to attend the meeting.
