A serious traffic accident closed part of M-50 for almost 2 1/2 hours on Monday.
At around 9:15 p.m. officers went to the 4900 block of Clinton Road (M-50) in Blackman Township for the two car accident. They were able to determine that one of the cars that was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed hit the rear of a car that was turning into a driveway at a private residence.
The driver who was turning into the home, a 23-year-old female from Jackson, was the only person in the car. She was ejected and landed in the front yard. She was transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Health with serious injuries.
The driver of the car that was speeding was a 27-year-old man from Pleasant Lake. He was also taken to the hospital but he had minor injuries. Police say he had been drinking.
