Energy drinks affect blood vessel function

A new study suggests that a single energy drink could immediately harm blood vessel function.

Energy drinks are among the most commonly used dietary supplements in the United States. The researchers tested the participants' blood vessel function before drinking the energy drinks to establish a baseline.

Then each participant drank a 24-ounce energy drink and after 90 minutes, the participants' blood vessel function was tested again. Researchers found that the students had weaker artery flow than they had before consuming the energy drinks.
