A Facebook message has been circling since Sunday, warning women on MSU's campus not to let a woman borrow their cell phone with a fear that it leads to human trafficking.

FOX 47 has a call into local police to discover how true or false this claim is.

MSU Police posted on their Facebook page on Monday that they have heard about the situation via concerned members of the community and don't believe that there is any threat to the area. Their message is posted below.

The original message that was being sent asked people that received it to pass it along as a warning that a 40-50 year old woman approached a student at MSU and asked to use her phone. Then she calls a 517 number and asked the student her name, and if she can meet her on Friday night at 6 PM. At that time on Friday, the student, Olivia Yates, receives a text message asking where Olivia is. According to the message, Yates blocks the message, tells her parents, and they contact the East Lansing Police. The police, according to the post, say that they have received 6 reports about this happening.
