One year to the day after Jerome Ezell disappeared in Mid-Michigan on November 7, 2017, his family is making a plea for help.
His car and then-five month old son were found in Lansing Township. But there's been no trace of him.
The family told us the last year has been painful for them, but it's also made their bond stronger than ever.
On the one year anniversary, the family has a message for Jerome, they want you home no matter what the circumstances are.
"I really can't put my finger on it, it's kind of like an out of body experience," said Jasmine Hill, Jerome Ezell's girlfriend.
"It's not real, seem like it just happened yesterday," said Rosa Ezell, Jerome Ezell's mother.
On November 7, 2017, 28-year-old Jerome "Roni" Ezell, was supposed to pick up his girlfriend Jasmine Hill from work.
Hill waited for hours and she heard no word from Ezell. Hill used her OnStar app to track her car to a wooded area on North Fairview Ave.
When she went there she found their baby, strapped in his car seat, but no Jerome.
"It's a tough situation, but we are trying to hold it together as best as we can," said Hill.
Police said they've gotten plenty of leads in the past year, none of them substantial.
"I know that the family gets frustrated with not having information about his whereabouts. Are we doing everything we possibly can do, should there be more resources always come into question," said Cheif Adam Kline, Lansing Township Police Department.
When a person goes missing they are entered into a national database called NamUs. When you type in "Jerome Ezell" it shows that he is still listed as missing. There's also a physical discription and his last known location. At this time that's all police have right now. It's left a mother angry.
"Give us something so I can find my son, please," said Rosa Ezell.
When News 10 asked the police if they can understand the family's frustration, they answered "I wish I had answers for them. I want to tell them to give them a little closure, give them information. I wish I had it," said Kline.
Hill is now raising their two kids alone, with a missing father.
"It's hard, it's definitely hard, I think the biggest thing for me is Jackson not having those memories with Roni. It's a hard feeling," said Hill.
Police said the case is not cold, but it is at a stand-still.
They're still check every lead they get.
