WINTER PARK, FL. — A former Grand Ledge High School band director is facing child pornography charges. Police arrested 47-year-old Christopher Blackmer in Winter Park Florida, an Orlando suburb.
The police report shares the shocking details of what Blackmer is accused of after 24 years of teaching, the last six (2013-2019) were spent in Florida after he left Grand Ledge.
Florida news cameras were rolling when 47-year-old Christopher Blackmer left jail on a $5,000 bond.
He is seen dodging reporters questions and entering a taxi without saying a word.
The investigation started when Winter Park police received a tip in January about possible inappropriate messages and images sent between Blackmer and a student.
The police report a 39-minute video of Blackmer and an underage male student, 16 or 17 years old, engaging in sex acts was found on his phone.
The video was a combination of five videos taken on different dates.
The police report also said Blackmer sent nude photos of a former Winter Park student to a current Winter Park student.
Blackmer was a band director at Grand Ledge High School before working at Winter Park High School.
According to the Winter Park High School website, he held similar positions at Commerce Township, Dearborn and Flint schools.
He received a Master of Music from Michigan State University in 2006 and a Bachelors of Music Education at Central Michigan University in 1995
