GM names plant managers to lead Lansing plants

General Motors (GM) appointed Steve Notar Donato as the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant Manager, it will go into effect on June 1.

Donato will lead Lansing Grand River, GM's second-newest U.S. assembly plant as the manufacturing home of the Cadillac CTS and ATS family of vehicles as well as the Chevrolet Camaro. He will also manage Lansing's two stamping plants and logistics optimization center.

Donato's past assignments include Plant Manager, Lordstown Assembly Operations as well as Marion Metal Center. He has experience in manufacturing operations and engineering positions at Wentzville, Parma, Orion, NUMMI, and Flint.

Donato has a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in mechanical engineering and a master's degree from Kettering University in manufacturing management.

GM appointed Marcos Purty as Lansing Delta Township Assembly Plant Manager effective July 1. Purty will lead Lansing Delta Township Assembly, the manufacturing location of the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and the Buick Enclave.

In the past Purty has been Managing Director, GM Thailand & Chevrolet Sales. Purty has also held engineering and manufacturing positions of increasing responsibility in Pontiac, Canada, Fort Wayne, Holden, and Indonesia.

Purty earned a bachelor's degre in electrical engineering from Florida A&M University and is completing his executive MBA from the Unviersity of Southern California.

Mike Trevorrow will become vice president of global workplace safety. Prior to his role in Lansing, he was the executive director of global manufacturing engineering body systems, making him responsible for dies, stamping and body shops around the world. He's also had various manufacturing and quality leadership positions at Flint Tool and Die, Japan, Marion Metal Center and Fort Wayne Assembly.
