The National College Players Association (NCPA) asked the NCAA in a public statement to consider keeping fans out of tournaments due to the Coronavirus.

"In the wake of the emerging coronavirus pandemic, the NCAA and its colleges should take precautions to protect college athletes." The NCPA wrote.

Their request also includes putting other precautions in place to safeguard the health of the athletes such as canceling meet-and-greet opportunities, keeping players away from crowded areas where fans might welcome them, and sanitizing transportation used by teams.

In reference to the up-coming NCAA March Madness the association wrote: "there should be a serious discussion about holding competitions without an audience present."
