LANSING, Mich. — Authorities are investigating in south Lansing after police say three children under the age of 5 were hit by a car while crossing the road.
Police were called to the 6200 block of south Cedar at 7:20 p.m. Monday.
Authorities say the children were hit while crossing Cedar Street from the Pennsylvania Meijer parking lot. The vehicle took off. They say the children were accompanied by an adult who was not struck by the vehicle.
"We're pulling video from local stores and businesses in the area to try to figure out, or at least try to get the vehicles that possibly were involved," Mandi Beasinger, Sergeant with the Lansing Police Department, said.
The children were taken to Sparrow hospital and are in stable condition.
Police say witnesses are telling them it was a dark SUV and are working to identify the driver.
The intersection of Miller Road and Edgewood Boulevard has been reopened.
Fox 47 does have a crew on scene and is working to learn more.
