JACKSON, Mich. — Henry Ford Allegiance Health hospital in Jackson is upgrading its security.
The hospital will install a new metal detector in the emergency room entrance to the patient registration area.
Hospital officials say the detector will be in operation around the clock and signs will be posted to direct visitors and patients.
Henry Ford Allegiance Health is also planning on hiring additional security officers, including K9 officers, as well as taking an in-depth look at the current security camera and badge access systems.
