If you suffer from allergies a beard could help

Posted

Dr. Michael Moore with Texas E.N.T. says beards can keep allergens from getting into your nose and mouth.

The larger the beard, he says, the better it acts as a filter, and can help to build your tolerance to your allergies.

Dr. Moore says the key to getting the health benefits is keeping it clean and well-groomed.

Other recommended treatments include over-the-counter medicines Zyrtec, Allegra, Claritin.

A nasal rinse also works wonders too to flush your sinuses of allergens.

If none of that works, you may want to talk to your doctor about allergy shots or drops.
