JACKSON, Mich. — People living near the Sparks Foundation County Park in the city of Jackson say they are planning to ask councilmembers for help with their homes that have been suffering from flood damage.

The drainage system for a lagoon at the park was blocked, which caused underwater flooding in surrounding homes.

The Cascade Falls lie within the boundaries of the county park.

Neighbors are asking the council to approve a joint resolution with the county and requesting the Jackson County Drain Commissioner to establish a drain consisting of the lagoon system and outlet channel of the park.
