JACKSON, Mich. — A Jackson man died Sunday morning after being struck by an Amtrak train in Jackson County.
Keith Farrow, 45, was walking on the railroad tracks near N. Sandstone Rd. when he was struck by an approaching Amtrak train, according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities responded at 8:40 a.m., and Farrow died at the scene from his injuries.
No passengers on the train were injured, though "the train was delayed for a lengthy period of time," according to the release.
Authorities do not know if drugs or alcohol were a factor. Their investigation is ongoing.
