JACKSON, Mich. — Jackson police say that Daivon Brown was shot and killed just before 2 a.m. Monday. He was found dead on Mitchell Street and his killer is still on the run.

The neighborhood is on edge.

Brian Wilk knocked on over a dozen doors in the neighborhood.

Several people told him that this type of crime happens a lot there.

They also did not want to go on camera because they actually feared of gang-related retaliation.

"I just don't know man, I'm just praying that nothing happens to one of my kids," said neighbor Kenneth Robinson.

He, too, says he is not surprised with a fatal shooting happening down the street from him.

"This is not anything that has not been going on here. Recently the last couple of summers, a lot of these kids just have their sense of direction all mixed up," said Robinson

Is he scared or afraid to leave his house?

"No, not really, I am used to it. As long as you don't get in their business they won't get in yours. You just let them go on by. That is just how these kids are. "

Police say they still have not made any arrests.
