Jackson woman set to be sentenced for killing baby

JACKSON, Mich. — A Jackson woman is scheduled to learn her fate Wednesday morning after she admitted to killing her boyfriend's son.

Amber Reeves,25, pleaded guilty on Feb. 19 to one count of manslaughter and one count of child abuse in the second degree for the death of 14-month-old Logan Tracy.

She said when she was alone last October babysitting Logan when he spat up.

She then hit him several times, causing internal bleeding. He died from blunt force trauma to his stomach.

Reeves faces up to 15 years in prison.

She's scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court by Judge Susan B. Jordan at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
