JCI Greater Muskegon’s annual Snowfest event will return to Downtown Muskegon on Saturday, February 1, 2020. The popular downtown winter jam-packed Saturday featuring the annual Battle of the Bowls Soup and Chili Cook-Off, Cornhole tournaments, and our newest addition of a winter brew festival!
“We are excited to kick off 2020 with Muskegon’s 35th Annual Snowfest,” said Keria Shineldecker, 2020 President of JCI Greater Muskegon. “Snowfest is JCI Greater Muskegon’s signature event that we have put together for the Muskegon area. As a group of passionate young professionals come together to provide an opportunity for the entire community to engage with one another during the cold weather. With our newest additions, you won't want to miss this Anniversary event!”
On Saturday, February 1, the Cornhole Tournaments return and will run simultaneously on Western Avenue between 3rd and 4th street. Registration begins at 9:00am, with the tournament kicking off at 10:00am. Trophies and cash prizes will be given to 1st and 2nd place teams. Pre-event registration is requested. Cost to play is $40 per cornhole team of 2. Those wanting to compete in the popular tournament should register early.
The Battle of the Bowls Soup and Chili Cook-off will take place from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, February 1st on the Concourse of the Mercy Health Arena (fka L.C. Walker Arena) in Downtown Muskegon. Area restaurants will go head to head to see who has the area’s best soup and chili. Samples will be given in 4oz samples. Our newest event, the winter beer festival will be held simultaneously in the same space and will feature almost 20 breweries. Presale tickets for the Bowls & Brews will be sold for $25 and includes 12 tasting tickets which can be used for a soup/chili or brews. Cost at the door is $35. Smaller ticket packages will be available day-of.
The following restaurants will be on-site at Snowfest 2020: Fatty Lumpkins Sandwhich Shack, Courses, Nipotes Italian Kitchen, Ryke’s Bakery Catering and Café, Bone Ends, The Hearthstone Bistro, SE4SONS, The Sweet Spot, Tangelwood Café, Dr. Rolf’s Barbeque, Henessey’s, Morat’s Bakery, and Skeetown Tavern.
Along with these confirmed restaurants we are excited to announce these first time Snowfest 2020 breweries: Pigeon Hill Brewing Company, Rake Beer Project, Unruly Brewing, Grand Armory Brewing, Fetch Brewing Company, Big Hart Brewing Co., Cedar Springs Brewing Company, The Mitten Brewing Co., Trail Point Brewing Company, Our Brewing Company, Creston Brewery, Founders Brewing Co., Saugatuck Brewing Company, and Bell’s Brewery.
