LANSING, Mich. — LCC has been ranked one of the nation’s best technical schools by Real Work Matters. RWM.org is an online resource hub for students interested in technical training.

LCC ranked second out of 704 schools nationwide. According to RWM.org, “LCC had one of the widest selections of programs available for students interested in technical training at the certificate and associate degree level. As one of the largest community colleges in Michigan, LCC is also more affordable than many schools in our ranking. LCC shines for having a lower cost of attendance when taking into account tuition and fees, books and supply costs, and how much aid is received by students at the school.”

Dean of Technical Careers Mark Cosgrove said, “Lansing Community College has worked hard to provide cutting-edge programs to address the extensive need for highly skilled technicians in the workplace. There are hundreds of jobs in our community, and over 6 million across the country that go unfilled simply because applicants do not possess the skill set necessary to claim those high-paying career opportunities.”

LCC’s Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) offers hands-on training in a state-of-the-art facility, using the latest equipment and technology with skilled faculty who understand today’s advanced manufacturing.

Included in Real Work Matters assessment are fire science, aviation technology and Health and Human Services careers like dental hygienist, respiratory therapist, ultrasound technician, emergency medical technician (EMT) and massage therapist.

Dean of Health and Human Services Margie Clark said, “This national recognition from RWM.org is a great honor for the college. LCC has dedicated and highly qualified faculty who are committed to student centered teaching and learning that leads to student success. The real-life experiences our students learn positions them to transition to the workplace with confidence.”

This recognition serves as further validation of LCC’s commitment to student success and our quest to prepare people for highly skilled, high-paying, rewarding careers.
