Special guests include Rep. Sarah Anthony, Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope, and LCC political science professor Randy Watkins. The 90-minute event emceed by LCC’s Layne Ingram will include video, LCC student poetry, the opportunity to get your questions about voting answered, and critical information on how to vote and key dates and deadlines.
“Fall 2020, coming up on a big election, this is a great time for LCC staff, students, and the greater LCC community to come together to engage with each other and discuss the importance of the vote,” said Annescia Dillard Black History Awareness Committee co-chair. “Historically African Americans have had to continuously fight for the right to vote. Inspired by that persistence we created this event to inform and hopefully inspire all who wish to participate.”
