LANSING, Mich. — Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun will provide an update regarding the state’s response efforts to COVID-19 this afternoon.

The press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, August 19 at 2 p.m.

On Tuesday, Michigan reported 477 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 new deaths.

This brings the total number of cases to 93,662 since the pandemic began in March and 6,360 deaths in total.
