Fire Chief John Clark gave his resignation notice to the township July 3rd. Clark tells FOX 47 he has multiple job opportunities, but didn't want to get into specifics.
Clark will stay on with the fire department up to the end of October to assist with the transition to a new chief.
Clark has served as Delta Township Fire Chief since 2011. He came to Delta Township after serving as assistant chief in Washington Township. Clark has been a firefighter for 38 years. Clark says in his 7 years as chief he was able to secure $4 million in grants for the department.
Assistant Chief Mike Roman is now handling operational duties.
Delta Township Manager Bill Reed says that they will be posting a the chief's position opening soon.
