Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and MDHHS Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun on Tuesday encouraged Michiganders to come up with a plan to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it's widely available.
Right now, the state is only vaccinating frontline workers and began vaccinations at long-term care facilities on Monday.
There have been more than 71,000 vaccines given to Michiganders so far.
According to Whitmer, it will take some time for the vaccine to become available, but she wants people to get prepared to get it when it's ready.
