LANSING, Mich. — There are now 94,697 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and 6,368 deaths, according to new numbers released by the state on Thursday.
That's up 419 cases and 19 deaths from the day before; 11 of those deaths were identified during a Vital Records review.
As of Aug. 14, a cumulative total of 67,778 have recovered from the virus in the state.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun said the Detroit region still has the highest case rate at 61 cases per million people per day. She noted that the case rate is largely driven by counties outside Detroit.
