A couple of months ago Lansing resident Mikaela Higgins was crowned Miss Lansing and this weekend she will be headed to Port Huron for the Miss Michigan USA pageant.
The pageant will be a two day event testing the contestants knowledge on current events, social issues, and their attire.
Regardless of winning she plans on using this platform to bring light to different issues in the Lansing area and bringing more awareness to the special needs community.
The pageant will begin on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and the final show will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the McMorran Place in Port Huron, Michigan.
