Money sparks playground for all

A check was presented on Thursday that will spark the creativity and imagination for hundreds of children.

The Community Foundation presented $27,900 to the Ingham Intermediate School District for the Hearts of Fun Playground.

The playground will target pre-K and elementary-age students who have physical and cognitive challenges and are in need of an accessible and safe play area.

Many play structures aren't created for students with disabilities, mainly because the cost to build them and to have them carry specific equipment, is expensive.

The Hearts of Fun fundraising project not only creates an environment for students with disabilities, but also for other students, so all can play and learn together.

This will be built at Heartwood School.
