The Michigan State University Police Department says fraudulent claims made for money from the MSU Healing Assistance fund were not made by survivors of Dr. Larry Nassar.
"The investigation shows that no Nassar survivors who made criminal complaints or civil filings or their family members made any fraudulent claims for funds", according to a press release from MSU Police.
The department says there were 'significant fraudulent financial claims' made, and their investigation into the matter continues.
"Due to the complex nature of the fraud, it is expected the investigation will continue for some lengthy period of time."
The $10 million Healing Assistance Fund was set up so Nassar survivors could be reimbursed for out of pocket therapy expenses. It was suspended in July when the company administering the fund raised concerns about fraud.
