East Lansing drivers - here are a list of projects that could change up your routine.
Starting on July 10, various streets will be closed down for the resurfacing of M.A.C. Avenue, as well as the Center City District redevelopment project.
M.A.C. Avenue (Grand River Avenue to Albert Avenue) Closure
July 10-17
M.A.C. Avenue, from Grand River Avenue to Albert Avenue, will be closed to traffic from approximately July 10-17 for street resurfacing as a part of the 2019 Local Streets Project. Eastbound Grand River Avenue traffic will be able to access downtown East Lansing via Charles Street and westbound Grand River Avenue traffic will be able access the downtown via Abbot Road or Charles Street. Pedestrian access to businesses along M.A.C. Avenue will be maintained at all times.
100/200 Block of E. Grand River Avenue Alley Closure (East End)
July 11-12
The east end of the 100/200 block of the E. Grand River Avenue alley is scheduled to be closed to through traffic from July 11-12 to accommodate a construction crane in the alley. The crane will be removing equipment from the roof of The Landmark on Grand River building.
Albert Avenue (Grove Street to Abbot Road) Closure
July 11-12
Albert Avenue, from Grove Street to Abbot Road, is scheduled to be closed to traffic from July 11-12 to accommodate the installation of a crosswalk at the west end of Albert Avenue. Westbound Albert Avenue traffic will be detoured to Grove Street. Pedestrian access to businesses along Albert Avenue will be maintained at all times.
Albert Avenue (Grove Street to M.A.C. Avenue) Closure for Starfarm
July 12 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Albert Avenue, from M.A.C. Avenue to Grove Street, will be closed to traffic on Friday, July 12 from approximately 6:30-9:30 p.m. for the kickoff of the 2019 East Lansing Summer Concert Series. The kickoff will feature a free, live performance by Starfarm from 7-9 p.m. in downtown East Lansing’s Ann Street Plaza (corner of Albert and M.A.C. avenues). The Grove Street Garage, 330 Grove Street, can be accessed via Abbot Road to Linden Street to Grove Street.
Albert Avenue (M.A.C. Avenue to Abbot Road) Closure
July 15-22
Albert Avenue, from M.A.C. Avenue to Abbot Road, is scheduled to be closed to traffic from July 15-22 to accommodate road work, the installation of crosswalks and landscaping. It is anticipated that as portions of the work are completed, the full closure will shift to a partial closure. Pedestrian access to businesses along Albert Avenue will be maintained at all times.
