The recent Michigan DNR recruiting class got a visit from Governor Rick Snyder on Wednesday while they were doing field exercises at the Michigan State Police Training academy in Lansing.
The 24 recruits worked on a crime scene in front of the governor.
They performed an investigation on a dead deer, getting time of death, checking out the scene where it was found, and even collecting DNA samples.
The governor talked to the class and shared the importance of the conservation officer and how paying attention to Michigan resources is very crucial to our state.
DNR officers aren't just responsible for game and fish.
If you call 9-11 in a rural community, a conservation officer just may come to your door.
They are trained in fundamental law as well.
