New Hasbro program helps recycle old toys

Hasbro wants to make sure some toys won't just be discarded once they've been fully loved by families.

A pilot toy recycling program begins now for consumers to send back any well-loved toys and games that will be recycled and used to build play spaces, flower pots, and park benches.

And the process is simple: Visit Hasbrotoyrecycling.com to sign up for the program. Then, you can collect your games and toys, print out a free shipping label, and mail it to Terracycle, the partner company.

The pilot program is open to all Hasbro toys and games including face-to-face games, plastic and electronic toys, action figures, dolls, plush, and more.

Although it's free for anyone to send and recycle, a program like this is an investment for Rhode Island based Hasbro toy company.

Hasbro will test the program as it looks to expand the initiative around the world.
