LANSING, Mich. — Medical residents at Sparrow Hospital just got some extra training that could be useful with the care of a baby.
The Sparrow Caregivers and the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation donated funds to purchase a baby mannequin.
The mannequin will be used to practice lumbar punctures which take fluid from the spine.
The technique is most often used to diagnose meningitis, but can be used for other medical purposes.
The Sparrow Caregivers held fundraising events to gather the money needed for the mannequin.
