The Okemos School District has a new superintendent.
John Hood was unanimously selected by the school board.
Hood started his career in the Okemos district 23 years ago as a teacher at Chippewa Middle School.
Since then, he has served as principal at three schools, and as assistant superintendent.
Hood will begin his new role on Jan. 1.
Former Superintendent Alena Zachery-Ross resigned in June after just one year on the job.
