This week, Old Country Buffet in Jackson closed its doors, and now the remaining assets are being offered to the general public through an online auction.

The company, Buffets LLC is currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, so it can restructure its debts and liabilities, strengthen its operations by closing certain weaker restaurants and recapitalize its business, states a press release from the company.

“It is sad to see this location close it's doors since so many local patrons have been coming here for years.” says Stephanie Pike, Public Relations Manager for Auction Nation.  “This is an amazing opportunity not only for people in the restaurant industry, but for patrons and the general public alike to bid on and purchase the assets from Old Country Buffet”.

A few of the items from the Jackson location will be taken to other locations, and all remaining assets of the Jackson and two other Michigan locations will be auctioned through Auction Nation.

Old Country Buffet is located at 1230 Jackson Crossing, Jackson, MI 49202.  All bidding will take place on Auction Nation’s website and is online through Thursday, at 12 pm.

Registration is free and open to the public. There will be an open house preview Thursday from 8 am until noon.
