OLIVET, Mich. — Olivet College has announced the appointment of Amy Radford-Popp, Ph.D., to the newly-created Dean of Student Engagement (DSE) position. The DSE is the chief student affairs officer and will be responsible for providing leadership and integration for all aspects of the student experience, including co-curricular engagement, residential life, personal health and wellness, and academic success.

“We are happy to welcome Dr. Radford-Popp to the Olivet family,” Provost Maria Davis, Ph.D., said. “With her extensive experience in higher education and proven dedication to student success, she will be a great asset to Olivet College.”
Radford-Popp has worked at Michigan State University for nearly 20 years serving in various student services roles, most recently as the director of the residential business community at the Broad College of Business. She has also held teaching positions at Michigan State University, Lansing Community College, the University of Virginia, Greensboro College and North Carolina State University.

“I am very excited and honored to be selected for the Dean of Student Engagement role,” Radford-Popp said. “My passion for student success and campus engagement throughout my career provides a strong foundation for me to serve the students, staff and faculty at Olivet College in this transformational leadership role. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a team of students, professional staff and faculty members that put students and their success at the center of all that we do, as well as promote experiential learning opportunities to engage in intellectual, personal, social, ethical and spiritual development inside and outside the classroom.

“Through my interactions with current and former students, staff, faculty and alumni, it has been clear to me that Olivet College is indeed a special place. I am very enthusiastic to build a vibrant student community and to foster a campus culture that thrives as a strong liberal arts experience for all that choose to call Olivet College home.”

Radford-Popp resides in Potterville. She will join Olivet College this July.
