Police arrested William Strampel, the dean of Michigan State's College of Osteopathic Medicine who was Larry Nassar's boss.

Strampel, 70, is listed on the Ingham County website as being lodged in the Jail. Charges were not listed.

State Police, and investigators with the Attorney General's office were outside his DeWitt home Monday. They told FOX 47 that it was part of an ongoing investigation.

According to Strampel's personnel file he has been on medical leave from MSU since December 14th, 2017.

The arrest came after the Michigan Attorney General's Office called a press conference to give an update on its investigation into Michigan State University. That's scheduled for noon on Tuesday, and will be live on fox47news.com

Earlier this month the Wall Street Journal published an article claiming that Strampel told a group of students and administrators that he did not believe the female patients who alleged sexual abuse by Nassar.

Larry Nassar is a convinced serial child molester who was the USA Gymnastics national team doctor and an osteopathic physician at Michigan State University. He was sentenced earlier this year.

Strampel has been named in more than 100 civil lawsuits as knowing the abuse was going on and not doing anything about it.
