A pump failure at a oil facility near Onondaga Township caused a leak Sunday night.
The Ingham Sheriff's Office says a three inch line from an oil pump owned by Omimex Energy failed and released about 42 gallons of crude oil and brine.
It happened in the area of Kinneville and Stone Road at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The oil and brine drained into a corn field and wooded area.
Michigan DEQ representatives will be on site Monday to oversee cleanup.
