Slotkin submits signatures to get on the ballot

Posted

If you recognize the name Elissa Slotkin, it could be because she was recently endorsed by Vice President Joe Biden.

Slotkin is hoping to be Michigan's next Congresswoman.

Friday she took a step in that direction, submitting 1,995 petition signatures to officially get on the ballot in November.

Slotkin will be challenging Republican incumbent, Mike Bishop for Michigan's 8th congressional seat. That seat includes Ingham, Livingston, and northern Oakland Counties.

Slotkin's campaign has said that she outraised Bishop by more than $340,000 in the first quarter of the election year, and now has a cash-on-hand advantage.
