EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University has settled "some" of the lawsuits filed by the second wave of Larry Nassar survivors. MSU spokeswoman Emily Guerrant tells fox47.com settlement talks between the university and other Wave 2 survivors are ongoing.

Michigan State settled the first round of lawsuits in May of 2018. It agreed to pay $500 million. $425 million of that is earmarked for the first group of 333 survivors. $75 million was set aside to settle future claims. An additional 168 survivors, calling themselves "Wave 2," have filed suit since then.

Guerrant tells FOX47news.com filings made this week in state and federal court were procedurally required to keep the process moving forward and that, "MSU is still actively engaged in settlement talks with the Wave 2 survivors." FOX 47 News and fox47news.com will keep you updated on the negotiations.
