LANSING, Mich. — A system designed to save you time waiting in line at the Secretary of State’s office is actually doing the opposite.
The MI-Time System allows people to virtually take their place in line ahead of a visit to any Secretary of State branch, but the system has been purposely disabled for a month.
The Michigan Department of State took it offline after noticing it was giving customer inaccurate wait times.
The company responsible for the software is working to fix it. The part of the system that allows people to set an appointment time is still working.
