LANSING, Mich. — Spartans are back on the court as the new season for the Michigan State men's basketball team begins with the first day of practice.

The Spartans are thought to be contenders to win the Big Ten and challenge for the national title.

There will always be pressure on a team coming off of a final four appearance but when Michigan State is ranked number one in most preseason polls, that certainly adds an extra element.

Tom Izzo said before practice Tuesday that Aaron Henry and Gabe Brown are the two players that he believes improved the most over the summer.

The Spartan basketball season begins Tuesday, Oct. 26 with an exhibition against Albion.
