EATON RAPIDS, Mich. — An official groundbreaking for Tembo Eaton Village in Eaton Rapids was held Tuesday.
The groundbreaking is being held by T.A. Forsberg Inc., a mid-Michigan commercial and residential development firm.
Tembo Eaton Village is a development of 12 homes in Eaton Rapids' first pocket neighborhood, according to the development firm.
The development firm plans to build these homes at the site of a former mobile home park that was vacant for several years.
The firm said the homes will be grouped together offering some common green space area for residents to enjoy.
The development group said it will begin selling its Tembo homes during the groundbreaking.
The size of the units will range from 600 to 1,100 square feet with varying floor plans and designs, according to the development firm.
The firm said they units could be available as soon as December.
The firm said construction of Tembo Eaton Village will signal the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship with the city, and the neighborhood will revive a long-distressed part of the city and will be a small-home neighborhood that is unique to mid-Michigan.
