LANSING, Mich. — State Senator Tom Barrett who was elected in November 2014 remembers Xavier DeGroat when he first began his journey networking and advocating for autism awareness. Xavier got to become friends with then Representative candidate Tom Barrett before he become a state representative in 2015. Since then the two leaders have worked tirelessly together on legislation for law enforcement change for those with a communication impediment and building a network.
Now Senator Barrett will be visiting Xavier DeGroat on November 13th at the White House for a special tour and meet with leaders in Washington D.C. As Xavier has been advocating for legal change in federal government to provide better services to those with autism through the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI - CEO Xavier DeGroat has been relentless since he took his initiative which recently passed into law by Governor Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan. Xavier is making his effort to work with all people for this groundbreaking project. Keep your eyes out in Mid December to get more updates on his work with the federal government.
