EAST LANSING, Mich. — Two Michigan State University (MSU) football players, Luke Fulton and Charles Willekes, have been arrested resulting in their indefinite suspension from the team.
The arrest by the East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) took place on Sept. 8. at a fraternity house off campus.
Luke Fulton’s attorney, Mike Nichols, couldn’t share much. Nichols was able to tell FOX 47 News that Fulton was home the night of the incident and went out to help a friend in need.
“The person who was involved - the person who was punched. It’s nothing that wouldn’t happen in any other of the hundreds of thousands of cases that have happened off-campus or on campus over the last three or four decades,” he said.
Fulton and Willekes were arraigned in the 54-B district court shortly thereafter.
“Luke Fulton and Charles Willekes were suspended from all team activities immediately, and remain suspended from the program indefinitely,” said Michigan State football spokesman Ben Phlegar.
Nichols says the players have a sentencing hearing scheduled for Oct. 28.
