The wife of Eaton County's Sheriff Tom Reich has named him in a request for a personal protection order.
The couple is in the midst of a divorce.
The Michigan State Police tells us Brenda Cleeves-Reich called them to the couple's house Monday night. A Michigan State Police spokesman described it as a civil matter and that nothing criminal was involved.
However, she did tell troopers she was concerned about her safety. Troopers investigated, but didn't find anything dangerous about the situation and soon left.
Cleeves-Reich filed for the protection order on Tuesday in Eaton County Circuit Court. It has been sent to a judge in Shiawassee county for a decision.
