A Southgate woman is facing charges after she allegedly posed as a CIA agent, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court by the FBI.
The complaint states in January, Suzanne Nicole Bucki of Southgate submitted documentation showing she worked for the Central Intelligence Agency to Guiding Harbor Foster Care in Belleville. She was reportedly trying to apply to be a foster parent for her 2-year-old niece.
The documentation included earning statements with a CIA emblem, a CIA badge and a photo ID of Bucki's Concealed Pistol License, according to the complaint.
Bucki is also accused of submitting a verification form signed by the director of the CIA, John O'Brennan.
Later in January, once the form was sent to the CIA, the agency said it could not process the request because there was no record of Bucki in their systems.
Meanwhile, the niece had been placed in Bucki's care.
According to the complaint, police were then sent to Bucki's home to pick up the niece and question Bucki. She once again told police she was with the CIA.
The woman, officials say, admitted later that she made the whole story up to get custody of her niece.
We were unable to reach Bucki for comment.
However, at her listed address, her sister, the mother of the child, spoke to Action News.
"I had no idea. My mother had no idea," said Rachel Bucki. She was aware her sister attempted to gain custody but not in the manner she did, she claims.
