Bloomfield Township police recognized a good Samaritan who found $700 in cash on the street and turned the money into the department.
In an interesting turn of events, the $700 in cash was never claimed and given to the good Samaritan, who in turn donated the money, along with an additional $300, to a scholarship, according to a Facebook post.

Police say after six months, the $700 went unclaimed, so they returned it to the resident who found the money, whose name wasn't released.
In total, $1,000 was dontated to the Gary Davis Scholarship at the Oakland Police Academy. Davis was a Bloomfield Township officer who died in the line of duty on May 13, 2004.
