Up-cycle these items and turn them into useful crafts

In honor of Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22, we decided to show some ways to keep things out of the landfill and up-cycle them instead.

CORD ORGANIZER

We have a tangled mess of cords that we just can’t seem to part with! If you take an old shoe box and stand up empty toilet paper rolls, the cords will fit snug inside! Keep the kids busy and let them decorate the box or the rolls.

COFFEE CREAMER CONTAINERS

We are “coffee with our creamer” people in our household, which means, we have lots of empty creamer containers. They have an awesome seal on them, right? Once rinsed and dried, they make wonderful containers for gold fish crackers, popcorn kernels, coffee, beans and more!

DIY CAT HIDEAWAY

Give a cat a box, they’ll be happy for days. But give a kitty a DIY tent, they’ll be happy furever! Follow the attached link to see how you can make an awesome tent, just by incorporating an adult t-shirt, some cardboard, tape and old metal hangers!

NO SEW PILLOW

I have t-shirts that are probably 30 years-old! I just can’t seem to part with them. But, with that said, they are wadded up in a drawer. You can see them all of the time by putting them on display as a no-sew pillow! This is also a great idea for high school seniors right now. (Get their permission to use the shirt, of course.) Follow the link and have a great time making your commemorative pillow.
