WXYZ — Under Mel Tucker, Michigan State football has really taken the uniform game to the next level.
This weekend against Penn State, for the first time ever, the fan favorite 'Gruff Sparty' logo from the 80's will be on the teams football helmets.

Fans have clamored for the popular cartoon logo to be put on helmets for years.
The social media department fields tweets from fans almost daily asking for this look to be brought to the field, and finally, the equipment department along with Tucker came through.
Look for them Saturday as Michigan State heads to Penn State for the final regular season game of the 2020 season.
