Hospitals across metro Detroit are taking extra precaution to protect against the coronavirus, including new rules when it comes to visitors.

At Henry Ford Wyandotte, you'll see a tent outside where visitors will be screened before they go into the hospital.

People visiting those inside Michigan Medicine and Detroit Medical Center will see new restrictions.

At both hospitals, only one visitor per patient allowed, and they have to be an adult.

At Michigan Medicine , visitors with flu-like symptoms or cold symptoms will not be allowed to visit.

For women in labor, only two adults allowed inside the delivery room, and no siblings of newborns allowed.

DMC says the adult visitor must be a family member. Any person under investigation for coronavirus cannot accept visitors. And at all their hospitals staff members will continue questioning new patients on all recent travel.

Michigan Medicine does have one patient with the coronavirus . They are telling us that person is in stable condition.
