WASHINGTON, D.C. — White House officials said almost all federal workers should have pay that is owed to them by this Friday, Feb. 1.
That pay was withheld during the government shutdown while workers were furloughed. The government reopened Friday, Jan. 25.
The government uses multiple payroll providers, said Mick Mulvaney, acting White House chief of staff.
Government workers who did not get paid missed two paychecks. Some of them also were barred from doing things such as checking emails and have a lot of work to catch up on.
