There will soon be a new kid on the block by the way of voice assistants.

We already have Alexa, Siri, Cortana, Google Assistant and now -- Bixby. It's the brainchild of Samsung.

The company detailed the service in a recent news release, noting several areas where it thinks Bixby will stand out from the pack.

First, the company says the assistant will be able to perform most of the tasks in an application that users would be able to do via touch on the interface.

Users will also be able to use Bixby with a mixture of voice and touch commands without losing the work in progress, according to Samsung. Bixby reportedly understands the state of the application.

Lastly, Samsung says Bixby has the smarts to get what you're trying to say even when commands are not exact.

The company announced that some applications will be Bixby-enabled in the new Galaxy S8. That big reveal is expected at the end of this month.

Samsung says there’s even a dedicated button for the service on the new product to make the user experience more seamless.
