If you're planning a trip to the U.P. in the fall, keep in mind that colors will peak during the week of Oct. 5. The Upper Peninsula was named the best destination for fall foliage, so the peak will be particularly full that week.
In most of lower Michigan, including metro Detroit, the peak fall foliage week is Oct. 19.
